King's Inns students raise nearly €3,000 for children in Direct Provision

Barrister-at-law students at the King’s Inns have raised €2,845 for children in Direct Provision through their Christmas gift appeal.

The Christmas collection was spearheaded by current BL students Céile Varley, Joy Kangere and Barakat Gbadamosi, who appealed for donations of age appropriate gifts and gift cards up to €20.

A spokesperson for the King’s Inns told Irish Legal News: “The appeal was generously supported by students, staff and alumni of King’s Inns along with great support from the wider community, including students and staff at the Law Society of Ireland.”

Students at the Law Society donated €600 to the initiative.

Ms Varley, from Co Clare, recently completed the Diploma in Legal Studies. Ms Gbadamosi and Ms Kangere, both from Dublin, hold an LLB from Maynooth University and a BCL from UCD Sutherland School of Law respectively. All three are current BL students.
