KOD Lyons appoints Matthew de Courcy and Colleen Gildernew as partners

KOD Lyons has announced the promotion of Matthew de Courcy and Colleen Gildernew to partners at the Dublin-based human rights and criminal defence firm.

The move follows the appointment of newly qualified solicitor Ruth Walsh earlier this month.

Mr de Courcy joined KOD Lyons as a solicitor in 2014, and Ms Gildernew joined in 2015.

Commenting on their promotions, managing partner John O’Doherty told Irish Legal News: “Both appointments further enhance the service we provide to our clients in the fields of criminal defence, public interest law and human rights.

“Our new partners have been key members of our team for a number of years and have led a number of our initiatives and legal projects. Their promotion is a testament to their leadership, legal ability and commitment to our clients.

“In addition to their court work, Matthew has developed our private family law department and Colleen is seen as one of Ireland’s leading legal experts in the law around European Arrest Warrants and prison law.”

Mr O’Doherty added: “With the further appointment of our new solicitor Ruth Walsh in December 2018, our team look forward to the new legal year and the huge number of exciting cases that are already listed before the Superior Courts in 2019.”
