KPMG launches standalone law firm in Ireland
KPMG has launched a standalone law firm in Ireland with ambitions to establish a team of 160 legal professionals within the next two to three years.
Led by managing partner John Given and based at Stokes Place, Dublin 2, KPMG Law is providing clients with immediate access to its 60-strong legal and company secretarial teams.
It will expand its service offering to include financial services regulation, data and privacy, tech and IP, energy and legal managed services, complementing KPMG’s existing offering.
KPMG Law is also a member of the KPMG international network with access to a fast-growing team of over 3,200 legal experts across 84 countries.
Mr Given said: “This is an exciting time for our global and domestic clients as we work with them across their businesses. In addition to the proven track record of the existing legal team who are joining us from KPMG in Ireland, we’ll be developing new services and capabilities across a range of areas.
“We look forward to offering all of these services to existing clients of KPMG, as well as to other participants in the corporate and business market. Underpinning our ambition, KPMG Law is seeking to recruit additional talented people at every level to expand our legal footprint.”
Seamus Hand, managing partner of KPMG in Ireland, added: “The establishment of KPMG Law in Ireland is the latest development in the evolution of KPMG’s legal services offering. It responds to the demand for additional top class legal experience and expertise in many growing and complex areas of the law.
“I look forward to working with John and his team as they bring the very best legal expertise to our existing and future clients.”
The move follows the launch of EY Law Ireland just over a year ago with plans to grow to a headcount of 50 by 2025.
