Laurence Bond named director of human rights commission
Laurence Bond has been named director of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission.
Mr Bond was appointed following an open recruitment process by the Public Appointments Service (PAS).
Chief Commissioner Emily Logan said: “It is a great pleasure to warmly welcome Laurence into the role of Director of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission.
“Laurence brings a wealth of experience in senior management in public administration, and through his professional experience brings in-depth knowledge of, and a deep commitment to, the promotion of human rights and equality in Ireland.”
Mr Bond previously served as the commission’s head of research, a role he also played in its predecessor, the Equality Authority.
Prior to that, he worked in research, policy analysis and campaigning in the public and voluntary sectors, including with the National Economic and Social Forum and the Combat Poverty Agency.
