Law Societies from four jurisdictions meet in Belfast
Representatives from the Law Societies in each of the four legal jurisdictions in the UK and Ireland met in Belfast today.
Ian Huddleston, president of the Law Society of Northern Ireland, welcomed his colleagues from the presidential and chief executive teams of the Law Society of England and Wales, the Law Society of Scotland, and the Law Society of Ireland.
The regular meeting between the solicitor bodies convened to discuss issues including Brexit, legal regulation, professional indemnity insurance, personal injury claims and legal professional privilege.
A spokesperson for the Law Society of Northern Ireland told ILN: “The Law Society of Northern Ireland is delighted to be hosting the meeting of the four jurisdictions in Belfast and to welcome the Presidents and Chief Executives from the Law Societies of England and Wales, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland.
“Today’s meeting provides an opportunity to discuss issues of importance and commonality to the solicitor profession and to build upon the strong working partnerships with our colleagues from the four Law Societies.”
