NI: Law Society urges lawyers to ‘get on their bikes’ for charity
John Guerin, the President of the Law Society of Northern Ireland, has challenged lawyers to help raise money for charity CLIC Sargent.
The Law Society’s chosen charity for 2016 is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people.
Solicitors, barristers and members of the judiciary are invited to take part in the CLIC-A-Thon event on Thursday 9 June 2016, which will see teams compete to see who can travel furthest on stationary bikes.
Teams of up to three people can enter for a £75 fee.
The contest will take place outside the Royal Courts of Justice between 8am-4pm before prize-giving and refreshments in Ivory Restaurant at 6pm. A prize will also go to the “Best Dressed Team”.
Mr Guerin said: “I am delighted to be launching CLIC-A-Thon in aid of CLIC Sargent and I would encourage my colleagues right across the legal profession to undertake this special event by overtaking their colleagues in securing the furthest distances travelled in an hour.
“This event is open to all members of the legal profession and we hope that their work colleagues, staff and families will come along to lend support and help raise as much money as possible for this fantastic charity.”
