Law student crowned 50th Mary From Dungloe
A Glasgow law student has been crowned winner of the Mary From Dungloe competition in its 50th year.
Alisha Medford was awarded the accolade in front of around 600 people who attended the sold-out cabaret night at Ionad Spoirt na Rosann in Dungloe.
In her biography, she wrote: “I feel so honoured to be representing my home city of Glasgow as the Glasgow Mary for the 50th Mary From Dungloe International Festival.
“I am no stranger to Dungloe as my father was born and brought up in Tuberkeen and the festival has always been attended and enjoyed by myself and all my family and friends throughout the years and I am extremely excited to follow in my mother’s footsteps as she was once the Glasgow Mary many years ago.”
