NI: Lawyers make history at Belfast Pride
An organised bloc of lawyers took part in the annual Belfast Pride parade for the very first time on Saturday.
Solicitor CiarĂ¡n Moynagh of McLernon Moynagh Solicitors helped to organise the Lawyers at Belfast Pride bloc and told Irish Legal News today that it was a great success.
Mr Moynagh said: “On Saturday we made history by having a formalised group of lawyers take part in Belfast Pride. This demonstrates that lawyers are a diverse group active in our community.
“We hope that the visibility shows the LGBT community can readily access legal advice and representation to ensure their rights are upheld and protected.”
Mr Moynagh also ran a free legal information session out of Belfast LGBT Centre on Monday as part of Belfast Pride Festival.
Tens of thousands of people participated in the Belfast Pride parade on Saturday, according to BBC News reports.
