Lawyers to march at Dublin Pride 2022
Lawyers have been encouraged to join Dublin Pride 2022 to continue “the fight for equality and justice” in Ireland and across the world.
The OUTLaw Network, which brings together LGBT+ people and allies in the Irish legal sector, will participate in the march through Dublin city centre this Saturday 25 June.
The group will meet for a drag brunch at DLA Piper’s offices between 10.30am and 12.30pm, before joining the parade at Parnell Square.
Explaining its participation, the OUTLaw Network said: “Let us remember, first and foremost, Pride is a protest.
“Born from the Stonewall riots in NYC, and through the activism and bravery of people like Marsha P. Johnson, marching in Pride parades has drawn attention to the marginalisation of LGBT+ people in society and has driven a move toward change and acceptance, in Ireland and across the world.
“But it is not over, for the fight for equality and justice goes on. We march in solidarity with those who continue to suffer humiliation, rather than Pride, in who they are. We remember those who have suffered injury, and worse, because of who they are.”
Those who want to march with the OUTLaw Network are required to register for free via Eventbrite in order to receive a wristband.
