The legal implications of a British exit from the European Union will be discussed at an event in Belfast later this month.

The Centre for Democracy & Peace Building (CDPB), in conjunction with the Irish Centre for European Law (ICEL), will host the three-and-a-half hour conference in the Europa Hotel.

It is one of six events taking place under the banner of “EU Debate NI”, aimed at broadening the scope of the debate in Northern Ireland.

Speakers at the event will include CDPB chair Lord Alderdice, ICEL chair Mrs Justice Fidelma Macken, and the Attorney General John Larkin QC.

it will also hear from Scottish lawyer Sir David Edward QC; John Temple Lang of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton; Jacqueline Minor, head of representation at the EU Commission office in London; and Claire Archbold and Brian Doherty, deputy and retired heads of the Government Legal Service NI respectively.
