Legendary Maurice Gaffney SC reaches 100 years of age

Irish Legal News joins many well-wishers in congratulating Maurice Gaffney SC, Ireland’s oldest and longest-serving barrister, on his 100th birthday today.

Mr Gaffney joined the Bar in 1954, when there were only around 250 members, and became Senior Counsel in 1970.

Mr Gaffney still enjoys his work and recently told The Irish Times: “It keeps me alive.”
