Leman Solicitors raise €22,000 for cancer charity in gruelling race

Staff at Leman Solicitors have presented a cheque for nearly €22,000 to the Marie Keating Foundation after raising cash in a gruelling charity race.

Two teams from the firm raced their way from Croke Park Stadium in Dublin to the bottom of Croagh Patrick in Mayo and climbed the 764-metre mountain in wind and rain.

The teams completed various challenges in each of the seven counties they went through and, in doing so, raised €21,603 for the cancer charity.

John Hogan, managing partner at Leman Solicitors, said: “This event was one of the most challenging races which we have embarked on so far.

“It was the eighth year that Leman Solicitors has organised a charity challenge and in that time, we have raised over €190,000 for amazing charities. Each year the race gets a little more daring.

“We are genuinely honoured to join up with such a worthy charity again this year, we know that unfortunately every family in Ireland will or has been affected by cancer and the Marie Keating Foundation can help these people by making cancer less frightening and enlightening a reality.

“We are really grateful to our clients, our team, and suppliers who helped us to help the Foundation by sponsoring us to reach our €20,000 target.”

Linda Keating, director of fundraising for the Marie Keating Foundation, added: “We are truly grateful to Leman Solicitors for their efforts in raising the €21,603 and we thoroughly enjoyed supporting them with their event. We want to thank Leman Solicitors sincerely for taking on this enormous challenge on our behalf.”
