Les Allamby joins council of UK charity JUSTICE
Les Allamby, former chief commissioner of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission (NIHRC), has joined JUSTICE as a council member.
The UK-wide charity appointed a number of new board and council members following its 65th AGM on Wednesday.
Joining the board of trustees are I. Stephanie Boyce, past president of the Law Society of England and Wales; Sara Mansoori KC of Matrix Chambers; Alice Smith, trustee at Astriid and Christian Weaver of Garden Court North Chambers.
Mr Allamby is joined on the charity’s council by Axiom Advocates’ Almira Delibegović-Broome KC; Amanda Finlay CBE, chair of Law for Life; Saima Hanif KC, of 3 Verulam Buildings; Alexandra Marks CBE, recorder and deputy High Court judge and retired partner at Linklaters LLP; Kathleen Russ, of Travers Smith LLP and Maryann McMahon, former head of litigation for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions at Morgan Stanley.
JUSTICE’s chief executive, Fiona Rutherford, said: “As a UK-wide charity, it is vital that our governance and membership reflects the breadth of the justice sector and stretches across and represents the whole of the UK.
