Lewis Silkin appoints Victor Timon to head new IP, commercial and tech practice
Lewis Silkin LLP has announced the appointment of Victor Timon as a partner in Dublin to head up a new commercial, technology and intellectual property practice.
Joining from Maples, where he was head of commercial technology and data privacy, Mr Timon brings over 35 years’ experience in commercial, technology, IP and data protection law.
He works across a wide-range of sectors and has particular experience advising innovative, IP-driven organisations, notably in the technology, cloud and telecoms industries.
Lewis Silkin expanded into Ireland early last year and Mr Timon’s appointment will bolster its practice by expanding its range of services within the Irish and EU market.
Welcoming Mr Timon’s appointment, joint managing partner Giles Crown said: “Businesses are becoming ever more cognisant of the importance of IP, technology and data as assets and are rightly demanding expert advice on the full-range of issues.
“With Dublin becoming an increasingly important location for innovative businesses, particularly in the technology sector, providing unfettered access to European markets made perfect sense for us to leverage our footprint there for our clients’ advantage.
“Victor is a terrific addition to our Dublin team and is the ideal person to lead on Lewis Silkin’s offering in Ireland. We look forward to working with him.”
Mr Timon added: “Lewis Silkin has great plans for Dublin and I’m very excited to play my part in developing the firm’s commercial, technology and data protection practices in Ireland.
“Drawing on the firm’s long-standing expertise in IP and technology, backed up by the wider team based in the UK, this new offering will further enhance Lewis Silkin’s position as the law firm of choice for innovative, IP-rich businesses.”
