Limerick solicitors donate €2,500 to Children’s Grief Centre
The Limerick Solicitors Bar Association (LSBA) has given a €2,500 boost to the Children’s Grief Centre, the only charity of its kind in Ireland.
Since its establishment in 2009, the Children’s Grief Centre has supported more than 1,500 children and young people who have experienced loss through death, separation and divorce.
The centre is fundraising to cover the costs of renovating the former Ladies Residence on the John Henry Newman campus at Mary Immaculate College, which has been gifted to the centre.
The LSBA helped to raise money in November and December by offering members a free hot drink in Limerick’s Habit Coffee + Retail in exchange for a donation.
Derek Walsh, president of the LSBA, told Irish Legal News: “There was a phenomenal response from members to the appeal, which was topped up by the LSBA. We were delighted to make a donation of €2,500 to the Children’s Grief Centre – Dream Build.”
The Children’s Grief Centre is continuing to raise money for the project through Gofundme.
