Liverpool law lecturer and public health law specialist joins Maynooth University
Maynooth University Law Department has announced the appointment of Dr Ollie Bartlett from the University of Liverpool, who is taking up a lectureship in law.
Dr Bartlett joined Liverpool as a law lecturer in 2015 and later became deputy director of the Law and Non-Communicable Diseases Unit there.
He specialises in public health law and policy, and is also interested in EU law and risk regulation.
His PhD thesis explored the feasibility of creating an EU strategy on addiction, and his academic work to date (both sole and co-authored) has examined various aspects of how law can be used as a tool of non-communicable disease prevention.
Dr Bartlett’s PhD was awarded by Durham University in 2016, where he also gained LLB and MJur degrees in 2011 and 2013.
Dr Bartlett will teach a new module at Maynooth on Public Health Law and Policy, as well as teaching EU law and legal research methods.
Outside the Department, he continues to serve on the editorial team of the European Journal of Risk Regulation.
