London: Lawyers offered new e-cars through salary sacrifice scheme
Lawyers at a major City firm will be able to buy electric cars through a new scheme designed to contribute to the fight against climate change.
Stephenson Harwood, which employs over 1,100 people across eight global offices, will make the scheme available to all staff in London from next year.
The salary sacrifice scheme will allow staff to purchase a new electric car for a fixed monthly amount, which includes related costs such as insurance, vehicle excise duty, replacement tires and breakdown cover, The Lawyer reports.
The firm has also committed to putting any money saved on national insurance contributions as a result of the scheme towards other green initiatives.
The e-car benefit was designed by Axel Koelsch, who joined Stephenson Harwood as chief operating officer from Addleshaw Goddard in January.
