NI: Lord Neuberger delivers Belfast lecture on technology and the law
Lord Neuberger, President of the UK Supreme Court, delivered a keynote lecture on technology and the law at the close of the British Irish Commercial Bar Association (BICBA) conference in Belfast.
Leading commercial lawyers convened in the Royal Courts of Justice last week for the one-day event.
Lord Neuberger delivered the closing address ahead of a dinner for delegates.
His lecture touched on the use of cameras in the courtroom as well as video-link technology, online dispute resolution, data protection rights and government surveillance.
Like the conference itself, the lecture was divided into three areas – technology in the courtroom, technology in the litigation process, and technology as a generator of substantive rights.
Lord Neuberger’s lecture is available in full from the UKSC website.
