Louise Craig
Retired Belfast solicitor Louise Craig, a former partner at McKinty and Wright, has passed away.
Mrs Craig, née Taylor, was admitted to the roll of solicitors in Northern Ireland in 1992 and was an apprentice, solicitor, and partner in McKinty and Wright, which was acquired by DWF in 2021.
She left private practice in 2012 and subsequently worked supporting vulnerable children and young people.
As a policy adviser to the NSPCC, she developed recommendations for protections for child witnesses and this research formed part of her MSc degree in youth justice.
She also worked as a counsellor with Childline and volunteered with Victim Support NI, familiarising child witnesses with the legal process and providing support to them at trial in both the Magistrates’ Court and the Crown Court.
The Law Society of Northern Ireland said it offers its “deepest condolences to her family, colleagues and friends”.
A service of thanksgiving was held in St Columba’s Parish Church in Belfast yesterday.
