NI: Madam Justice McBride appointed to Boundary Commission
The Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland, Sir Declan Morgan, has appointed Madam Justice Denise McBride to be deputy chair of the Boundary Commission for Northern Ireland.
Madam Justice McBride, who was sworn in as one of Northern Ireland’s first female High Court judges on 23 October 2015, will serve in the role until 26 October 2018.
She has appeared at all court levels including the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court, Family Care Centre, Land Registry and Lands Tribunal.
She was appointed to the Junior Crown Panel and was also appointed to the Directorate of Legal Services’ Panel for Family Law, Chancery Law and General Litigation (including Medical Negligence) in 2009 and re-appointed in 2011.
Madam Justice McBride is replacing The Hon Mr Justice McCloskey, who has been a High Court judge since 2007 and was appointed to the deputy chairman role in September 2012.
