Maples Group partner Niamh O’Shea wins rising star award
Niamh O’Shea, partner at Maples and Calder LLP, has been recognised as a “Rising Star” at the European Women in Business Law Awards 2020, which happened virtually last week.
Ms O’Shea, who is based at the firm’s Dublin office, joined the firm’s graduate programme as a trainee in 2008. She qualified in 2011 and joined the funds and investment management practice. She became a partner in January.
Commenting on her award, Ms O’Shea said: “It is a privilege to win this award and an honour to be recognised by Euromoney Legal Media Group among a number of other very accomplished lawyers across Europe.
“I would like to thank my peers in the legal profession and of course our clients for their feedback.”

The ‘Rising Star’ award recognises women across Europe who are blazing trails and making a name for themselves in their respective areas of practice.
Another partner in the team, Deirdre McIlvenna, was also shortlisted in the ‘Best in Investment Funds’ category.
