Mason Hayes & Curran has appointed Gerard Kelly as co-head of the firm’s dispute resolution practice alongside Maurice Phelan.

Mr Kelly, who brings a wealth of experience in business-critical litigation and arbitration, will also continue as head of the business law firm’s intellectual property team.

The firm said his appointment was a response to the increasing strategic importance of Ireland as a hub for dispute resolution and the continued expansion of the firm’s team.

Managing partner Will Carmody said: “Our clients require us to support their increasingly sophisticated dispute resolution needs with subject matter specialist litigators and well-resourced teams that have the ability to manage complex disputes efficiently and expertly.

“Gerard and Maurice together are well positioned to ensure that we continue to grow the practice and meet that demand for high-quality legal services.”

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Kelly said: “I am honoured to take on this role at such an exciting time for the firm.

“The evolving nature of dispute resolution requires a dynamic and multifaceted approach, and I look forward to working with Maurice and our talented team to drive continued success for our clients.”

Mr Phelan added: “The legal and commercial challenges facing businesses today require a team that is agile, forward-thinking, and deeply experienced.

“Gerard’s appointment enhances our ability to provide best-in-class dispute resolution services, and I look forward to working with him as we continue to grow our practice.”
