Matheson advises US-based private equity fund on successful acquisition
Matheson has advised a US-based private equity fund on the successful acquisition of an Irish-based private security company.
The Riverside Company acquired Netwatch, which supplies cutting-edge commercial and residential video surveillance to customers across Ireland, the UK and the US.
The acquisition coincided with Riverside’s acquisition of the US-based National Monitoring Center and CalAtlantic, as well as UK-based Onwatch.
The new acquisitions will form a new combined Netwatch Group which aims to become the global leader of the video surveillance industry.
Matheson’s Brian McCloskey said: “We are delighted to have successfully completed this transaction with Riverside. Netwatch is a wonderful example of an indigenous Irish company with global ambitions and we look forward to being part of that journey with Riverside.”
Mr McCloskey, partner in the firm’s corporate M&A team, added: “This transaction is another great example of Matheson’s private equity expertise. Since 2010, we have advised on more private equity buyouts than any other Irish law firm.”
Laura Dillon, principal at Riverside, said: “We are very grateful to the support we received from Matheson on what was our first platform acquisition in Ireland.
“The strength in depth of the Matheson team was evident throughout the process and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
