Matheson partner Nicola Dunleavy appointed to London Court of International Arbitration
Matheson partner Nicola Dunleavy has been appointed as a member of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
As one of just 35 members, Ms Dunleavy, who is also vice-president of Arbitration Ireland, is currently the only Irish member of the Court.
The Court is the final authority for the proper application of the LCIA rules. Its principal functions are appointing tribunals, determining challenges to arbitrators, and controlling costs.
As a partner in the commercial litigation and dispute resolution department at Matheson, Ms Dunleavy represents the firm’s internationally focused clients doing business in and from Ireland.
She also leads the Matheson arbitration team in managing complex arbitrations, adjudications and expert determinations.
Commenting on her appointment, Ms Dunleavy said: “I am honoured to have been invited to become a member of the London Court of International Arbitration, to continue the work of this historic and leading international institution for commercial dispute resolution.”
Managing partner Michael Jackson added: “With over 20 years’ experience in all aspects of dispute resolution and regulatory enforcement, Nicola is one of Ireland’s leading litigators.
“This is a prestigious appointment reflecting the calibre of our people and the strength of our teams at Matheson.”
