NI: McCallister named possible adviser to Justice Minister
Former MLA John McCallister is being considered for an appointment as special adviser to Justice Minister Claire Sugden, the Belfast Telegraph reports.
Mr McCallister, the former deputy leader of political party NI21, worked closely with Ms Sugden in the last Assembly on issues including legislation to create an official Opposition.
The Belfast Telegraph reports that he has not yet been approached, but insiders believe he is a suitable candidate.
A source said: “With his experience, John McCallister would be exactly what Claire needs. He would offer support and advice in her dealings with the DUP and Sinn Féin.”
Another potential candidate is reportedly an unnamed woman in the corporate sector.
