McCann FitzGerald named best national firm for pro bono work
McCann FitzGerald has been named the best national firm for pro bono work at Legal Media Group Europe Women in Business Law Awards 2019 in London.
The award celebrates the pro bono activities undertaken by the firm that focus on women and diversity.
Over the past year, the firm has partnered with Women’s Aid to provide a legal advice clinic to support women experiencing domestic violence in certain legal proceedings; assisted Action Aid with a legislative mapping exercise; and commenced a secondment project with the Community Law and Mediation Centre, Coolock, which has seen trainees placed part-time with the centre to assist in its work to support vulnerable individuals.
Welcoming the award, managing partner Barry Devereux said: “This award is market recognition of the pro bono work McCann FitzGerald continues to undertake. We are keenly committed to making legal services more accessible for those who require them and have a keen interest in supporting projects that can have a positive impact on the communities where we work.”
Legal Media Group is the legal publishing arm of Euromoney Institutional Investor, one of the world’s leading financial publishers.
The firm awards recognise the best initiatives for gender diversity, innovation, minority women, mentoring, work-life balance, pro bono work and talent management.
