Michael Murray retires as State solicitor for Limerick
Tributes have been paid to Michael Murray on his retirement as State solicitor for Limerick, the Limerick Post reports.
Leading tributes in Limerick Circuit Courthouse, Judge John O’Donnell said locals were lucky to have been served by Mr Murray.
Mr Murray, who first appeared before the court in 1972, has been State solicitor since 1980. Speaking at the special sitting of the court, he thanked colleagues and the staff of his office.
He said: “In recent years, the office has been like a pressure cookery and they are the unsung heroes. I owe them a great debt of gratitude.”
Mr Murray retires from the bench this Friday, but is planning to return to private practice.
