NI: Millar McCall Wylie advises on £50m ‘life-changing’ regeneration project
Belfast firm Millar McCall Wylie is advising consortium Bangor Marine Ltd in relation to a long-awaited £50 million redevelopment of Bangor’s quayside.
It was announced last month that Bangor Marine, which includes Co Antrim developer Karl Group and Belfast building contractor Farrans, has been tasked with delivering the multi-million pound mixed-use project.
First mooted decades ago, the major regeneration scheme is set to comprise a 70-to-80-bed hotel, cinema, as well as housing, office and retail space. A new public realm scheme featuring events space, a children’s play area and a water feature are also included in the plans.
The Millar McCall Wylie team advising Bangor Marine is led by real estate partner Simon Fleming.
Commenting on the project, Mr Fleming said: “The regeneration of Bangor quayside is an exciting, high priority project, which will have a transformative impact on Bangor and the people who live, work and visit there.
“We are very proud to be involved in such an important and much needed local project, and the new Development Agreement signed by Bangor Marine provides confidence that this much anticipated regeneration will finally get under way.”
Aran Blackbourne, spokesperson for Bangor Marine Ltd, added: “We are fortunate to have such a knowledgeable and committed team in Millar McCall Wylie to help us deliver what will be a significant milestone in Bangor’s history. This is a long-term phased project, likely to a number of years to complete and life-changing in nature, and Millar McCall Wylie’s advice during this period will be critical in bringing our vision to life.”
