Belfast-based firm Mills Selig has raised over £5,000 for NI Children’s Hospice by abseiling down the Europa Hotel.

The team of lawyers scaled the 13-story hotel to begin their journey down the glass fronted building via abseil. Stepping over the edge, thoughts of the local charity were at the forefront of everyone’s mind.

Thanking donors, Chris Guy, head of corporate at Mills Selig, said: “It was quite daunting stepping over the edge of the building to begin the journey down, but remembering the journey that so many families here in Northern Ireland face on a daily basis spurred us on.

“It was a great accomplishment to complete the abseil but an even greater accomplishment to raise much needed funds for the charity.

“Our aim was to raise enough money to provide over 80 hours of care. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we have more than doubled this amount. Thank you to everyone who supported our efforts.”

Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice care for over 300 local children and young people who have very complex needs. The charity relies heavily on public donations to ensure that families receive the care and support they so desperately need. The money raised from the abseil will provide a week’s worth of specialist care in hospice for a family.
