NI: MKB Law welcomes appointment of two solicitors to Children Order Panel
Belfast firm MKB Law has announced that two of its family lawyers have been appointed to the Children Order Panel by the Law Society of Northern Ireland.
Solicitors Karen Edwards and Ainé Toner have been appointed to the Panel of family lawyers who have undertaken specialist training and examination on the Children Order (Northern Ireland) 1995.
Members of the Panel represent parents in private law proceedings where the parents require residence orders, contact orders or a specific issue order for their children after the breakdown of a marriage or relationship.
They also represent parents in public law proceedings, including applications for care orders, secure accommodation orders and adoptions.
Anne Marie Kelly, director and head of family law at MKB Law, has been a member of the Children Order Panel for 20 years. She is also a member of the Northern Ireland Guardian Ad Litem Agency Panel, which means she represents children in public law proceedings on behalf of the guardian ad litem.
Ms Kelly said: “The addition of Karen and Ainé to the Panel has greatly enhanced the service MKB Law can provide to clients who are also parents.”
