Mountjoy prisoners raise charity cash through Christmas album
Inmates at Mountjoy Prison are helping to raise money for a homelessness charity through an album of Christmas songs.
The “Jingle Jangle” album, to be launched at a fundraising concert in the prison tomorrow, is a collaboration between the SOLAS Workplace Choir and the Mountjoy Prison Inhouse Voices.
The album represents the latest collaboration between Mountjoy and SOLAS, the Further Education and Training Authority, following their work on the TEDxMountjoy event earlier this year.
The album features a rendition of ‘The Auld Triangle’ alongside much-loved Christmas tracks, all of which were recorded in Mountjoy Prison in recent months.
All proceeds from tomorrow’s launch concert and sales of the album will go to Dublin Simon Community.
