Mr Justice Richard Johnson
Mr Justice Richard Johnson, former president of the High Court, has passed away at the age of 81.
The late judge qualified as a barrister at the King’s Inns in 1960 and was called to the Inner Bar in 1977, prior to his appointment to the High Court bench in 1987.
He served as president of the High Court from November 2006 until October 2009, when he was succeeded by Mr Justice Nicholas Kearns.
He will be buried on Thursday following Requiem Mass at 11.30am at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Donnybrook.
