Ms Justice Catherine McGuinness to address Yes campaign launch

Ms Justice Catherine McGuinness, retired judge of the Supreme Court, will address tomorrow’s launch of the Together for Yes campaign for repeal of the Eighth Amendment.

The new campaign is jointly led by the Coalition to Repeal the Eighth Amendment, the Abortion Rights Campaign (ARC) and the National Women’s Council of Ireland, and presents itself as “the national people’s campaign” for a Yes vote.

Ms Justice McGuinness will appear on the platform alongside a couple whose son was diagnosed with a fatal foetal abnormality; Dr Peter Boylan, a consultant obstetrician and former master of the National Maternity Hospital; and Ailbhe Smyth, Orla O’Connor and Grainne Griffin, co-directors of Together for Yes.

The launch takes place at 10.30am tomorrow, Thursday 22 March, in The Pillar Room, Rotunda Hospital, Parnell Square, Dublin 1.
