Nominations open for Law Society of Ireland elections

Nominations have been opened for this year’s elections to the Law Society of Ireland Council.
Candidates must be nominated by two members of the Law Society by 19 September 2016 to stand for election to the governing Council.
Joining the Council allows solicitors to “play an important role in shaping and developing the future of their profession”, the Society said.
A member of the Society may only nominate two candidates, whether for the annual election or a provincial election.
The election will conclude by Thursday 27 October and the results will be announced at the Law Society AGM on Thursday 3 November.
Nomination forms have been distributed by post to members of the Law Society and are also available from the Law Society website.
