Northern Ireland Young Solicitors Association elects 2022 officers
The newly-formed committee of the Northern Ireland Young Solicitors Association (NIYSA) has elected its vice-chair, secretary, treasurer and other officers for 2022.
The NIYSA committee, which was elected at its AGM last month, elected its officers following its first monthly meeting of the year.
Shannon Gawley of Carson McDowell was elected as vice-chair, joined on the committee by her firm colleague Hannah Stewart who was re-elected as membership secretary.
Ellen Forester of Tughans was re-elected as treasurer. Ross White of Mills Selig was elected as engagement officer and William Wilson of Thompson Crooks Solicitors was elected as CPD co-ordinator.
Emma Falloon of Kennedys, Natasha Moffett of DAC Beachcroft, Robert Bellingham of Tughans and Colleen Ward of JMK Solicitors are ordinary committee members. William Nugent of Thompson Crooks Solicitors is on the committee as a past chair.
Ruaidhrí Austin, NIYSA chairperson, told Irish Legal News: “I am privileged to be working alongside such a diverse team of young solicitors all hailing from across the length and breadth of Northern Ireland.
“I should also express my gratitude on behalf of the entire committee to the Law Society of Northern Ireland for hosting our meetings in the newly-opened Meeting Space at Law Society House in Belfast which allows our committee access to state of the art facilities and helps us better represent our members.”
