Obituary: Declan Drislane
Experienced pensions lawyer and Arthur Cox partner Declan Drislane passed away peacefully on Monday 14 December 2015.
Mr Drislane was awarded a Bachelor in Business Studies (BBS) from Trinity College Dublin in 1979 before qualifying as a barrister-at-law at the King’s Inns in 1987.
He joined Arthur Cox in 1990 after serving for ten years as in-house counsel to IDA (Ireland) and working for a year with KPMG Corporate Finance.
His credentials were quickly established when he set up a specialist pensions group within Arthur Cox, before going on to become a partner at the firm in 1999.
Mr Drislane was hailed in The Legal 500 as a “technically outstanding” lawyer and by Chambers Europe as “immensely experienced in pensions”.
His family have asked for donations, if desired, to be directed to St James’s Hospital Cancer Research.
