Orla Crowe appointed to nursing and midwifery fitness to practise role
Solicitor Orla Crowe has joined the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) as its new director of fitness to practise.
Ms Crowe is a solicitor with over 11 years of professional experience. She previously worked in the health and social care department of law firm ByrneWallace, where she specialised in child protection matters.
Prior to that, Ms Crowe worked as a criminal defence solicitor and as a human rights lawyer in Kosovo and Malawi.
Announcing the appointment on LinkedIn, the NMBI said: “Orla has always had an interest in the professions of nursing and midwifery, as her mother is a registered nurse who continues to practise in Mayo.
“She looks forward to working to protect the integrity of the professions by considering and investigating complaints about a registered nurse or midwife’s fitness to practise.”
