OUTLaw Network to mark International Transgender Day of Visibility

The OUTLaw Network’s first event of the year will take place next week to mark International Transgender Day of Visibility.

Orla Hubbard and Miah Phelan Sweeny were recently appointed as co-chairs of the OUTLaw Network, which is dedicated to promoting and fostering the inclusion of LGBT+ individuals and allies in the legal sector in Ireland.

On Thursday 27 March, the network is joining forces with one of its founding firms, Arthur Cox, to host a workshop and networking evening with transgender activist and educator Dr Vanessa Lacey.

The workshop will focus on issues of allyship and inclusion, eliminating corporate discrimination, as well as practical advice on how to support a trans colleague in the workplace.

The event is open to all with an interest in equality in the legal sector and will count as one hour of CPD for solicitors, under the heading of professional development and solicitor wellbeing.

It kicks off at 6.30pm with drinks and canapés, followed by Dr Lacey’s workshop from 7pm until 8pm.
