Mr Hamilton unexpectedly died on Monday, according to The Irish Times, where he worked for three-and-a-half years as a business journalist.

He left the newspaper in 2020 to train as a barrister with the King’s Inns, qualifying as a barrister in 2021.

He was a graduate of law and politics at University College Dublin (UCD) as well as holding a master’s in broadcast journalism from City, University of London.

A funeral mass will be held at St Michael’s Church in Leenane on Saturday 2 November, 12 noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
