Peter Murphy joins McInnes Dunne Solicitors as partner
Employment lawyer Peter Murphy has joined Dublin-based McInnes Dunne Solicitors as a partner.
Mr Murphy has specialised in the area of employment law since qualifying as a solicitor, representing and advising both employers and employees.
He represents both employers and employees from the WRC and Labour Court to the High Court and Court of Appeal. He advises on contentious and non-contentious matters covering the full scope of the employment relationship.
A graduate of University College Dublin, he is a member of the associate faculty of the Law Society of Ireland’s Law School, where he tutors students on the professional practice course. He is also an examiner on the Law Society’s employment law course.
Mr Murphy is the immediate past chair of the Employment Law Association of Ireland, a position he held from 2018 to 2020, having previously served as deputy chair for a number of years.
He is also member of the Dublin Solicitors’ Bar Association (DSBA), sitting on its specialist employment law committee, and a member of the UK’s Employment Lawyers Association and the European Employment Lawyers Association.
Partner John Dunne told Irish Legal News: “We are delighted to welcome as capable and experienced a lawyer as Peter Murphy to the firm, and look forward to working with him, and to continuing to grow the practice, for many years to come.”
Mr Murphy added: “I am very excited at the opportunity to join up with Peter and John. They have a very well regarded and established practice, which I hope to be able to contribute to from the beginning.
“I believe my experience and skill set compliment theirs and the move allows me to continue to represent the type of clients I have done to date. I am very much looking forward to getting started.”
