NI: Pinsent Masons partners make 40 Under 40 list
Two partners at the Belfast office of Pinsent Masons have been named in Business First’s Northern Ireland 40 Under 40 list.
Laura Gillespie and Richard Murphy have been named among the forty Northern Ireland professionals who are deemed to have made a significant impact in their career or profession to date.
Ms Gillespie, a litigation and regulatory partner, has over 15 years’ experience advising on regulatory and compliance issues such as health and safety, fraud, and environmental contamination.
With rising concerns over Data Protection issues, she has developed a particular expertise in this area, and is recognised as an authority leading a team advising on issues such as cyber security, data breaches and preparing for GDPR in May 2018.
She is also involved in Northern Ireland branch of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) committee, the NI Fraud Advisory Panel, and the NI Business Crime Partnership.
Mr Murphy is Northern Ireland’s only band one ranked energy lawyer and his standing marks him out as an in-demand media commentator on local market and regulation issues.
He has advised on most of Northern Ireland’s recent major energy projects, including I-Squared Capital’s acquisition of the Viridian Group, the largest energy deal across the Island in the last year.
Mr Murphy is a member of the NIRIG (Northern Ireland Renewables Industry Group) Committee and a regular speaker at the NI Energy Forum. He supports the NI Chamber on energy matters, including speaking at the inaugural meeting of the NI Chamber Energy Forum.
