Planning regulator launches new quarterly legal bulletin
The Office of the Planning Regulator has published the inaugural edition of a new quarterly bulletin titled Learning from Litigation.
The bulletin, produced by lawyers at Fieldfisher, has been developed in response to a survey of local authority planning personnel which indicated that they wanted to be kept better updated on developments in planning and environmental case law.
It will provide “valuable information on important precedents, court decisions and emerging trends and a concise overview of noteworthy planning cases”, the OPR said in introducing the first edition, which includes three case reports.
The development of the bulletin has been overseen by a steering group which includes representatives of the Law Society of Ireland’s environmental and planning law committee, as well as Fieldfisher and the OPR. Local government will be invited to nominate a representative to the steering group.
The bulletin will be published on the OPR’s website on a quarterly basis.
