Professor Imelda Maher appointed senior vice-president of Royal Irish Academy
Professor Imelda Maher of UCD Sutherland School of Law has been appointed as senior vice-president of the Royal Irish Academy (RIA).
The RIA is Ireland’s leading body of experts in the sciences and humanities and membership is considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.
Professor Maher is the Sutherland Full Professor of European Law at UCD Sutherland School of Law and is also an Honorary Bencher of The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
She was elected to membership of the RIA in 2011 and previously served as secretary of the RIA’s Polite Literature & Antiquities (PL&A) committee from 2014 to 2018.
