NI: Property transactions begin to bounce back
The number of property transactions in Northern Ireland has started to bounce back following the reopening of the housing market last month.
There were 1,320 property transactions in Northern Ireland in June 2020, up from 540 in May and 410 in April, according to new HMRC figures.
However, the figure remains substantially below the 2,290 transactions in June 2019 or the 2,700 transactions in June 2018.
Across the whole of the UK, there were 68,670 property transactions in June 2020, up from 45,900 in May and 37,170 in April.
Emergency laws related to COVID-19 were amended to allow for activities relating to house moves to resume from 15 June.
