Public procurement conference a success

The Updates in Public Procurement Law Conference was held at King’s Inns last Friday.

The event, organised by Michael Judge BL, kicked off with a welcome from Dr Eimear Brown, dean of the School of Law, and was chaired by Mr Justice Gerard Hogan, Judge of the Supreme Court. The keynote speaker, Mr Justice Anthony M. Collins, Judge of the Court of Appeal, set the tone for a day full of insightful discussions on the latest trends and challenges in procurement law.

Catherine Donnelly SC provided an in-depth look at EU Law perspectives on public procurement, covering key issues including scope, procedure, exclusion, evaluation, modification and litigation.

Peter Curran, head of public procurement at Eversheds Sutherland LLP (Ireland), shared valuable insights into the EU Public Procurement Directives and their practical impact.

Aoife Beirne BL wrapped things up with a keen analysis of recent Irish litigation with a focus on automatic suspension and abnormally low tenders.

The event concluded with a lively Q&A session that sparked engaging conversations on the most recent updates in the field.
