Rape accused given permission to leave Ireland to work in music festivals
A man awaiting trial on rape charges has been given permission to travel to the UK to attend two music festivals, the Irish Independent reports.
The man, appearing in Letterkenny District Court yesterday, was granted a variation in his bail conditions allowing him to leave the country for eight days to work at the festivals.
On his return, he will be tried on two counts of rape at an address in Letterkenny on 29 July 2016.
Judge Deirdre Gearty adjourned the case until 21 September.
