Residential property prices up seven per cent in last year
Residential property prices across Ireland rose by 7.2 per cent in the year to August, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
The latest Residential Property Price Index also reveals a 1.6 per cent increase between July–August 2016, slower than the 2.5 per cent increase between June–July 2016.
Overall, the national index is still 33.7 per cent lower than its highest level in 2007. Dublin residential property prices are 34.2 per cent lower than their February 2007 peak, while residential property prices in the rest of Ireland are 38.1 per cent lower than their May 2007 peak.
