Retired judge requires more time to review gardaí disclosures
Retired judge Mr Justice Iarfhlaith O’Neill has requested more time to conduct a review into protected disclosures made by two serving gardaí.
Mr Justice O’Neill was asked to look into allegations of wrongdoing contained in the disclosures and to report back to Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald within six weeks.
However, his 18 November deadline elapsed last week and he has been given permission to examine the issue for longer.
The Irish Times reports that the judge has not yet heard back from some of the people named in the disclosures.
He has a new deadline of Friday 2 December.
