Sellors seeks appointment of receiver to access embezzling ex-employee’s pension pot
Limerick firm Keating Connolly Sellors has applied for the appointment of a receiver over the €150,000 pension pot of a former employee who embezzled hundreds of thousands of euros from the firm.
Garry Carroll was jailed for three years after pleading guilty in 2012 to more than 30 charges of theft, larcency and embezzlement from his employer.
The firm obtained a €323,347 judgment against Mr Carroll in 2014, of which the High Court heard there is still €278,567 outstanding.
The firm is seeking an order of court directing the paying out of Mr Carroll’s €151,188 pension plan and the appointment of a receiver over them. The firm paid almost 20 per cent of the contributions to the plan.
Mr Justice Anthony Barr adjourned the application until October to allow Mr Carroll to instruct a solicitor and barrister.
