Senior Canadian judge to launch new Irish society for private law
A justice of the Supreme Court of Canada will deliver a keynote lecture in Dublin this month to launch the Palles Society for Private Law.
Mr Justice Russell Brown, who was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2015, will address lawyers on Thursday 22 November on “Indeterminacy in the Duty of Care Analysis”.
The Palles Society has been formed for the study of private law, which it defines in very broad terms, and is named for Christopher Palles, the last Chief Baron of the Irish Exchequer.
The lecture is presented by the Palles Society in association with the Private Law Research Group at TCD School of Law, and has been sponsored by the Ireland Canada Business Association (ICBA).
The event is free to attend, but registration via EventBrite is necessary.
